Architectural Services
We have an in-house architectural department which is able to undertake drawing and design work.
We specialise in smaller extension and refurbishment projects and new builds up to a construction value of approximately £750,000.
Most extensions and some refurbishment work require planning permission. We are able to deal with submissions to the relevant planning authority. We also have experience in appeal procedures.
On listed buildings, listed building consent will also be required for some works, particularly where there is any alteration or change even if this is relatively minor.
We are also able to submit Building Regulations applications. The Building Regulations relate to the technical aspects of building work and include regulations relating to issues such as structure, thermal insulation, ventilation, fire safety, disabled access and much more.
Even maintenance work can now fall under the provisions of the Building Regulations. In particular, the replacement of a thermal element, such as a wall lining or roof covering, can give rise to a need to add additional insulation to the building as a requirement under Part L of the Building Regulations. We can advise on such matters.
